Dear FOS11 Members,
It has come to our attention that a documentary film titled 102 Minutes That Changed America will air this evening at 9PM on the History Channel. The film contains material recorded in New York City between 8:38am and 11:30am on the morning of 9/11. The program will be followed immediately by a short documentary special entitled "I-Witness to 9/11," which will feature interviews with some of the people who provided footage to use in the main project, including many area residents.
The film's producer, Nicole Rittenmeyer, has contacted us to advise that she, "cannot assume that a family member who turns on the TV and inadvertently stumbles upon this program will not be pained by it. We have done our best to alert people who may watch that the material is challenging, by having a reputable historian introduce the program with a disclaimer that it included difficult material. There are three other disclaimers throughout the program that repeat that warning. Even so, I think it's important to let you know that this program will air, and to give you an opportunity to disseminate that information to your community if you feel that is necessary."
We appreciate Ms. Rittenmeyer's alerting us and we want to advise you that the film may contain some graphic footage which could by quite upseting. For some suggestions on deciding whether to view films which depict the events of September 11th Click Here.
