The Six Design Finalists for the
Boston Logan International Airport 9/11 Memorial
The Massachusetts Port Authority ("Massport") and the 9/11 Memorial Design Advisory Committee want to acknowledge the six finalists for the Boston Logan International Airport 9/11 Memorial (the "Airport 9/11 Memorial") with an exhibition of the finalists' design concepts. The month-long exhibition will be located at Logan Airport in the Lower Level Lobby of Terminal E. The exhibition will be open to the public 24/7 beginning April 9, 2008 through May 8, 2008.
The Airport 9/11 Memorial is intended as a place of reflection and remembrance for those affected by the events of September 11, 2001. The Airport 9/11 Memorial will acknowledge the events of 9/11, honor the passengers and crew of United Airlines Flight 175 and American Airlines Flight 11, and commemorate the contributions and dedication to duty of the Logan Airport community during that difficult period.
Massport has dedicated a two and a half-acre airport site adjacent to the Hilton Hotel for the Airport 9/11 Memorial. The selected design is now under construction and scheduled for completion in September 2008.
