Looking for a Job from the Inside Out:
An Online Career Workshop
Searching for a job and making a career change requires high energy, courage and above all else, resilience. For many impacted by the events of 9/11, simply carrying on and doing the best they can has sapped their energy and placed courage in short supply. If you are also faced with looking for work, you may feel even more discouraged. This online chat session, to be held on Wednesday, July 13, from 8:00-9:30 PM EDT, provides everyone affected by 9/11 with tools and techniques to reclaim your resilience. Learn to identify your core beliefs and understand how they shape your ability to move forward. Exercises that help you to reframe your beliefs and to open up career opportunities will be presented.
The chat will be led by Theresa Creedon, an experienced speaker on career change and a peer consultant with the For You NJ 9/11 program. Theresa draws upon her personal 9/11 experiences including the loss of her brother, a Port Authority Police officer, and the inspiration she gained from the survival of her other brother, a corporate sector employee located in the WTC. Theresa will co-moderate along with Dr. Donna Gaffney, a noted trauma specialist and licensed mental health professional. This session is open to all victims' family members, survivors, evacuees, and anyone else impacted by the events of 9/11.
After you login, you will be able to choose an anonymous chat name (which will identify you in the chat room) and a password. Then, you will receive an email with a link to the chat. On Wednesday, July 13 at 8:00 PM, please click on the link that is emailed to you and enter your chosen chat name and password. As a reminder, all participants must be 18 years of age or older and members of Families of September 11 (FOS11). To register as a FOS11 member, please click on the link at the bottom of this email.
If you have any problems or questions, please do not hesitate to contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 212-575-1878.
