Partisan Politics Threatens to Compromise Commission’s Work – Please Help!

Dear Family Member:
9/11 Commission Chairman Kean has stated that the Commission need an extension of at least two months but House Speaker Hastert has publicly stated that he opposes any extension.  If Congress doesn’t enact an extension of at least two months, the Commission will not be able to finish its work and may have to cancel important hearings and interviews; it may not have time to analyze critical documents. The result will be an incomplete report that is likely to leave unanswered questions and fail to provide a full list of recommendations for preventing future attacks.  We need the help of families in key states to contact reluctant Representatives and convince them that the safety of their constituents and all Americans is at stake. This must happen ASAP!

If you live in California, please call Representative Christopher Cox at 202-225-5611 and the district office at 949-756-2244. If he is your district Representative, mention it. If not, say you are a citizen of California.

If you live in Illinois, please call Speaker Dennis Hastert at 202-225-2976 (ask for Scott Palmer, his Chief of Staff) and the district office 630-406-1114. If he is your district Representative, mention it. If not, say you are a citizen of Illinois.

If you live in Missouri, please call Representative Roy Blunt at 202-225-6536 and the district office at 451-889-1800. If he is your district Representative, mention it. If not, say you are a citizen of Missouri.

If you live in Ohio, please call Representative Debra Pryce at 202-225-2015 or the district office at 614-469-5614. If she is your district Representative, mention it. If not, say you are a citizen of Ohio.

If you live in Texas, please call Representative Tom Delay at 202-225-5951or the district office at 281-240-3700614-469-5614. If she is your district Representative, mention it. If not, say you are a citizen of Texas.

You can also contact your senators by going to http://www.senate.gov, choosing your state from the pull down menu, and clicking on the Web forms of the two senators. But securing support for ANY extension in the House is critical right now and these Representatives are key.  Thank you for your help.
