Important Updated 9-11 Traumatic Grief Survey Information

FOS11 wishes to remind everyone about the 9-11 Traumatic Grief Survey. The survey is sponsored by the New York State Psychiatric Institute, Columbia University, the National Center for Post Traumatic Stress Disorders and the Families of September 11. The survey is located on the web (http://www.9-11survey.org).

Many of you have already completed the survey and we thank you for doing that. We hope many other members will complete the survey because it will provide unique information to researchers and health professionals on the needs and treatment of those who experience grief following large-scale trauma and loss.

The survey team has decided to extend the time that the survey is available for completion on the Internet. Remember, once you have signed on and initiated the survey you have a week to complete the survey, even though the survey takes only about 45 minutes to an hour to complete. You may take a break or breaks as long as it is completed within one week.

Please join us in completing this extremely important survey. Your contribution of time and effort will help others in the future who may suffer from trauma and loss and will contribute to a greater understanding of the effects of terrorism and public trauma.

The survey team welcomes your feedback about the survey.  If you have questions about the study or the survey, please contact Dr. Yuval Neria at the New York State Psychiatric Institute by phone at 212-543-5367 or by email at ny126@columbia.edu.
