Volunteer Speakers Program for TSA Safety Awareness and Education

Families of September 11 (FOS11), in partnership with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and The Camilla Group, LLC (TCG) offers its members the opportunity to participate in a volunteer program to speak to Transportation Security Officers (TSO’s). The program allows volunteers to speak at their local airport alongside FOS11 Advisory Board Member, Carie Lemack and involves them in an educational campaign to raise awareness about the importance of thorough and consistent security checks. The program provides volunteers a unique opportunity to visit with screeners, express solidarity, empower themselves and share their story. Volunteers work closely with FOS11 staff in preparation for the event.

Program Goals

• Involve 9/11 family members in an activity to make our country safer and more secure.
• Make the public aware of the importance of aviation security, and that it is a community effort, not just the work of TSO’s.
• Boost the morale of our TSO’s, thereby boosting the effectiveness of aviation security across the nation.

Show Your Appreciation

FOS11 members are encouraged to download our thank you card to hand out at airport check-in/screening areas, as a way to show appreciation for the work of the TSO’s. (Cards must be folded in half width-wise and in half again.)
