Message from FOS11 Advisory Board Member, Dr. Donna Gaffney:
As we approach the five year mark of the September 11th terrorist attacks, the media and entertainment industry are releasing the first commercial films focusing on the catastrophic events of that day. United Flight 93 premiered this past spring. In the next few weeks Oliver Stone’s film, World Trade Center will be released. While many citizens are not sure if they are ‘ready’ to view a re-enactment of that fateful day, family members of those who died and survivors are especially concerned about the film’s visibility, related media attention and of course, personal reactions to the film itself. The first question people may ask is “Should I see it?” The answer is very individual and depends on any number of factors. Click here for suggestions that may be useful in determining how to make that decision and guidelines for viewing.
