It's Not Too Late to Participate in the Labor Day Weekend Run to Remember
The first annual World Trade Center Run to Remember is scheduled for September 6, 2009 on Governors Island in New York City. Sponsored by the Run to Remember Foundation Inc., this 5K run/3K walk will raise funds for Families of September 11 and other 9/11 organizations. Over 400 people have already registered to participate in this exciting event.
We would like to thank both those entrants who have already signed up to run/walk on behalf of FOS11 as well as all those who are pledging donations in support of the participants.
Please join us September 6, 2009--there are several ways to participate:
Sign Up for the Race
We are seeking people who will run/walk in the race on behalf of Families of September 11. There is a $25 entry fee ($35 after August 31st). Register online at www.wtcruntoremember.com, select a fundraising goal, and ask your friends and family to support your efforts. Please remember that all donations made on behalf of Families of September 11 help us to continue serving you and assisting all those affected by the tragedy of September 11.
Donate to Support a Participant
If you can't join us that day, support a runner who is racing on behalf of Families of September 11, by going to the www.wtcruntoremember.com. If you're not sure who will be in the race, you can always pick our Executive Director, Anastasia Holmes or staff member Brian Richardson in the list of participants.
Families of September 11 is committed to supporting this event and will need volunteers to help us out that day. If you would like to volunteer, please e-mail Brian Richardson at email@example.com.
The run to Remember promises to be an inspiring event. It will offer families an opportunity to come together to celebrate the lives of those lost on September 11, 2001. Governor's Island is a unique and beautiful area in New York Harbor with wonderful views of the Statue of Liberty. With more than five miles of car-free biking, acres of green space for picnics, art exhibitions, performances, and much more, Governors Island has something for everyone to enjoy. The ferry ride to the island is free.
