Are you living with a sense of uncertainty or fear?

Do you want help in managing anxiety in the face of these uncertainties?

If so, Keep It REAL Community Groups may be for you.

Join other NYC Metro Area Members of Families of September 11 on Wednesday, October 26 from 6:00-8:00PM for this special skills-based group which helps participants experiencing anxiety over war, threats of terrorism and chronic uncertainty build a sense of safety and enhance coping skills. Especially suitable for those affected by the events of 9/11, the group is confidential, practical, and realistic. The emphasis is on self-care at work, home and the community.

Location:
Center for Trauma Program Innovation
120 West 57th Street
New York, NY 10019

This is not a treatment group. Six to eight adults learn skills that can effectively reduce the severity of anxiety and fear in the face of a traumatic or stressful event. The group keeps the focus on general, but relevant, risks and coping strategies and tries to prevent the "get worried, get scared or get stuck" experience that places some trauma-exposed individuals at increased risk for anxiety disorders. Self-screening is incorporated into the intervention and participants have access to referral information.

If you would like to register for this special upcoming session on Wednesday, October 26 from 6:00-8:00PM, please contact the Keep It REAL project coordinator directly at (212) 632-4524 or keepitrealjbfcs@gmail.com. Space is limited, so please register early.

Keep It REAL is a program of the Center for Trauma Program Innovation of the Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services. This project is supported by a September 11 recovery grant from the American Red Cross Liberty Disaster Relief Fund.
